Annum was honored to open our studio to attendees of the 2023 AIA Women’s Leadership Summit, taking place in Boston. The Summit “exists to support and empower women on their leadership journeys and break down the barriers that get in their way”.
Highlights included meeting industry professionals from around the country and hearing from Ann Beha on the challenges and triumphs of founding a design firm over 40 years ago.
We are proud to sponsor organizations such as the American Institute of Architects that celebrate women’s important contributions to the flourishing design industry.
Award-winning photographer Anton Grassl artfully captured our renovation and expansion of the Boston Athenaeum in historic Beacon Hill. The new photos showcase the varied spaces offered by the library, museum, and cultural center in the landmark 10 1/2 Beacon Street building.
Our middle school renovation and expansion at University School in Shaker Heights, Ohio has gained all required approvals to move forward. The project is combination of a new 40,000 gsf three-story library and classroom addition, 24,000 gsf of renovation and landscape improvements for play and learning. The new design honors the style of the 1926 Walker and Weeks building, while transforming to meet current education demands, on this independent school campus.
Is was an honor to receive the 2023 SMPS Boston Marketing Communications Award for both the Website and Brand Awareness categories at this year’s Awards Gala!
Rebranding our firm with a rich 40-year history involved a robust and carefully phased plan. London-based Greenspace was hired to help rename the firm, building on the strategy work by brand and strategy consultant Daniel Vogelzang. Following a thorough strategy process and visioning workshops, the concept of “Your place in time” was developed to address the practice’s spirit of collaboration with clients, its approach to timeless and sustainable designs, and the creation of buildings that bridge the past and future to create new places with meaning. The chosen name of Annum – meaning “in or for each year” – evokes these principles.
The firm continued working with Greenspace to design the new website to showcase its breadth of design work – from the American Campus and Arts + Culture to Libraries and Planning.
Thank you to SMPS Boston for this exciting recognition, and to our dedicated design and consultant team!
