Muskegon Museum of Art receives Building Award from AIA Michigan

Date
08.06.2026

The Muskegon Museum of Art has received a 2026 AIA Michigan Building Award!

Founded in 1912, the Museum is known for its distinguished permanent collection, innovative exhibits, and educational programming. Working with Mathison | Mathison Architects, Annum’s design for the Museum doubles its size, creating new galleries for changing exhibits and new spaces for education, permanent collections, and visitor amenities.

The team was excited to celebrate together at the AIAMI Awards Ceremony on June 5th at St. John’s Resort in Plymouth, Michigan.

The transformed Muskegon Museum of Art has become both a cultural anchor for Muskegon and a nationally recognized model for the future of museums in mid-sized cities.

Congratulations to the entire project team!
